Step into an intimate evening of timeless music as the Valletta Waterfront Jazz Series returns for its second edition in the historic setting of Sagrestia Vault.

Taking place on select Thursdays, the series invites audiences on a musical journey through the golden eras of jazz and popular music, with performances inspired by the Great American Songbook, Broadway musicals and classic Hollywood films.

Each evening features the acclaimed Dominic Galea Trio, with Dominic Galea on piano, Mario Aquilina on bass and Noel Grech on drums, joined by special guest vocalist Nadine Axisa.

Blending jazz tradition with a contemporary touch, the concerts revisit enduring works by some of the most influential composers of the 20th century, alongside celebrated jazz compositions from the same era.

The Great American Songbook brings together many of the most popular and lasting songs written between the 1920s and 1950s for Broadway, musical theatre and Hollywood cinema. Performed and reinterpreted by generations of singers and musicians, these timeless standards continue to shape jazz and popular music today.

At the heart of the series is composer and pianist Dominic Galea, a leading name on Malta’s jazz scene. Having performed his original compositions at prestigious venues and international jazz festivals across Europe, he has also recorded several jazz albums featuring both local and international musicians.

Set within the characterful ambience of Sagrestia Vault, each performance offers a relaxed and atmospheric way to experience some of the world’s most enduring music.
