Welcome to Pjazza Teatru Rjal (the open air performance space in the heart of Valletta)
In order to ensure that your experience at Pjazza Teatru Rjal is a most enjoyable one we invite you to follow carefully this presentation.

We thank you for your cooperation and we hope that you enjoy this performance.

If you hear the alarm sounding please evacuate the theatre by following the exit sign for your respective seating area.

Our trained security and theatre personnel will guide you to the designated assembly points located outside the theatre.

Please keep calm, do not run or push.

House Rules
1. Smoking (including the use of e-cigarettes) and eating (including chewing gum) is strictly prohibited within the precincts of the theatre.
2. Patrons are welcome to take drinks into the theatre but we ask for your cooperation to dispose properly of empty receptacles.
3. The use of cameras or other recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited during performances unless duly authorised by the theatre.
4. Mobile phones, beepers/pagers, alarm watches, iPods, video game systems, laser pointers etc... must be turned off prior to entering the theatre.
5. With the exception of guide dogs, animals cannot be allowed inside the venue.
6. The management of the theatre is not liable for any loss, theft or damage of personal belongings.
7. An announcement will be made to indicate the start at the beginning and after the interval. Please listen carefully and return to your seats accordingly. Admision to Pjazza Teatru Rjal
1. Patrons must be in possession of a valid ticket at all times that must be handed over for inspection by Pjazza Teatru Rjal staff when requested. Ticketholders must sit in the seats allocated to them.
2. Free-seating events will be on a first-come-first-served basis within the areas indicated by Pjazza Teatru Rjal staff or security.
3. Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable point. Likewise patrons must accept that, if required to leave the theatre while a performance is in progress, they may not be allowed back inside the theatre until an appropriate opportunity.

Security
1. Your security at Pjazza Teatru Rjal is very important to us. Patrons must therefore observe the theatre’s safety and security regulations as advertised before a performance or as otherwise indicated by the theatre’s staff.
2. Access to the stage is strictly prohibited at all times: before, during and after a show. If a member of the audience accepts a specific invitation to go on stage by one of the performers, the member of the audience consents to doing so at his/her own risk.
3. Objects that may cause harm or inconvenience in any way to oneself, fellow members of the audience, theatre staff or performers are strictly prohibited.
4. Patrons who are in possession of dangerous instruments or material, who refuse to have their bags security checked if required or who – in the view of the security personnel – may pose a potential threat to the security and safety of the theatre will be refused entry in the venue or may be asked to leave (without any right of ticket refund).
5. It is strictly prohibited to trespass, climb over gates or railings, step on the old theatre ruins or block passages or emergency exits.
6. The management reserves the right to refuse entry or request audience members to leave the venue at any point on reasonable grounds of health and safety, environmental or security concerns or where a ticket is void. The management may take any appropriate action to enforce this right.

Weather
1. Pjazza Teatru Rjal is an open air performance space. Patrons therefore accept that weather, climate, temperature and external light conditions are an integral part of the experience at Pjazza Teatru Rjal.
2. While we will make every effort to complete each event, we reserve the right to stop and start a performance if necessary. Events may be cancelled or abandoned in the event of bad weather or where circumstances are deemed by the management to pose a health & safety risk for the performers and/or the audience.
3. In some cases, the producer or the management may choose to delay the start time of a show for reasons including, but not limited to, weather conditions or forecasts. Start time may be delayed by up to 60 minutes before definitely cancelling or postponing an event.
4. If an event is cancelled, the management will announce this at the venue and via the theatre’s social media. Cancellations cannot be communicated individually to patrons.

Children
1. The management reserves the right to add its own age restrictions and recommendations to any production; parents should check each production prior to booking and make their own judgement as to the suitability of a show for their own child.
2. For safety reasons, all children are required to be in possession of a ticket and/or occupy a seat of their own.
3. Pushchairs or prams will not be allowed inside the theatre as these may cause unnecessary hindrance in the eventuality of an evacuation. Parents/guardians are requested to observe the directions given to them by the security personnel.
4. At the management’s discretion and in the interest of the event and of other patrons, parents with noisy children may be asked to leave the venue (without the right to claim for refund).

Dress
1. Although a casual dress code is generally acceptable when attending an event at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, patrons’ discretion is nevertheless required. The management reserves the right to refuse entry to any patron – even if in possession of a valid ticket and without the right to claim for refund – if in the management’s view the patron is not suitably or decently dressed.
2. Cloakroom service is not normally available at the venue.

Wheelchair Access
1. Pjazza Teatru Rjal is equipped with facilities for the disabled so that anyone can enjoy performances with maximum comfort. Lifts and ramps ensure easy access to the auditorium and to the disabled restrooms. Patrons with special needs are required to inform the box office/producer and should plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before curtain time and inform the security personnel. Wheelchair access is via the side entrance situated in South Street.
2. Patrons accompanying wheelchair users need to be in possession of a valid ticket.

Lost & Found
1. For Lost & Found items please refer to the security personnel or by e-mail to [email protected]
2. Lost items not claimed within five working days from the performance day will be handed over to the Valletta Police.
