L-AHHAR BASTIMENT: Stories from the Grand Harbour is a new multidisciplinary live production by Mikiel Anton Vassalli College (MAVC), conceived as a professional artistic triptych that brings together a short musical, a short play with music, and a contemporary dance work. Each of the three pieces is inspired by human and historical stories rooted in Malta’s iconic Grand Harbour.
The production will feature Orkestra Maxime from Katowice, Poland, as its principal orchestra, continuing the College’s international artistic collaboration following previous successful projects.
Blending music, visual arts, drama, movement, and dance, L-AHHAR BASTIMENT offers participating learners a rare opportunity to work within a professional creative environment. Under the artistic direction of established directors, choreographers, and musicians, they will engage in an intensive artistic process that mirrors real-world production practice and performance standards.
This ambitious project celebrates Maltese heritage while fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, creativity, and professional growth, culminating in a powerful live performance experience of national cultural significance.
